What was your favourite book and why
This is a difficult question for me because I have read so many wonderful books over the years. But if I had to choose one, I would say my favourite book is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
I first read this book in high school and was immediately captivated by the story. I was drawn to the protagonist, Scout, and her journey of learning about empathy, compassion, and standing up for what is right. The character of Atticus Finch also left a lasting impression on me as a moral compass and a representation of courage and integrity.
Aside from the compelling characters, the book also tackles heavy topics such as racism, prejudice, and social injustice with a nuanced and thought-provoking approach. It made me think about the world and society in a different way and sparked important discussions in my English class.
What I love most about this book is how seamlessly Harper Lee weaves together a compelling and heart-wrenching story with larger themes and messages. The writing is simple yet powerful, and the sense of place and time is vividly depicted.
Overall, To Kill a Mockingbird is a timeless classic that has stayed with me long after I finished reading it. It is a book that I revisit every few years and it never fails to remind me of important lessons and inspire me to be a better person.
